The construction of Bachchhala started in January 2016 and was completed in April 2017. The work took longer than expected due to monsoon season severely hampering the road to the site, thus delaying getting materials to carry on with construction.
The work completed was the demolition of eight (8) unsafe classrooms, and construction of two (2), two-storey, four (4) classroom buildings, providing a total of 8 classrooms. Furthermore, gender appropriate toilet facilities were constructed, as well as the implementation of rainwater harvesting and water filtration – to ensure the students of the school have access to a reliable source of safe drinking water.
